Hello. Yes looking outside my world at the big picture can help me in ways that are immeasurable. This morning I was in my head and obsessing on this and that realizing that at 11:00 am I had still not eaten anything. You would think that at my age I would know that Mark w/o food is not pretty. So I got some nourishment and was able to see the reason for my obsessive rather unhealthy thinking. As they say knowledge is power they also say that we have a built in for-getter so there you go.
Anyway, I did get up early and made it into the studio before going to the store and things are always better when I begin in the studio. Back to the breakfast issue. I've been operating one way for a while. I get up make coffee and have to have at least two cups before I eat anything. Years ago I used to have to eat something soon after waking I am going to try to get back to that habit.
One more day in the store and then some days in the studio. I have been trying to do a little organizing in the studio, a little at a time and figure out how to keep it that way. Set up systems that make and keep things organized. It's a good tip I've picked up form this book I'm reading a manual actually called ART/WORK co-written by Heather Darcy Bhandari & Jonathan Melber. ART/WORK ------Everything You Need to Know (and do) As You Pursue Your Art Career. Heather is an Art Director and Curator and Melber practiced Art Law in NY. As far as self-help type books go I think this one is the best for an artist that is. The book cuts through the crap and has lots of info that is useful.
