Hello. These photos are special for today. The left is of my Dad, we lost this past December 20th. Peter J. Perry 1925 - 2008. Rest in peace Daddy. I made my first show in NY a tribute to him. The middle is a favorite photo of mine of my Mother and me from 1985. I came out to her at seventeen and she showed no disappointment then or ever since. Unfortunately all gay people don't experience my mothers love and support at this crucial turning point in their lives when acceptance and love is all they need. Don't get me started because I am not so forgiving of people with narrow minds. When I think of young homeless gay people, kids mind you that have been thrown out of their family's house to fend for their-selves. I want to cry with anger. I think those parents should be charged with a crime against humanity. How's that, I am my mother's son. Without her I would not be who I am today on many levels. She is as liberal a democrat as I've ever encountered sometimes a little scary so. Anyway and the last photo of wild birch trees out in East Hampton was a big influence for the show.

Here we are a month later and today is the bittersweet day that I take my show down. It has been an amazing month for me. Things seldom run just the way you plan sometimes better sometimes not. I have not complaints really. I have high hopes of getting the right people in but it may just have been out of my power. It was seen by many people and I received some very nice words. I hope things come from it but that is out of my hands, well not totally but a little.

Anyway, the experience was great for me. Just the fact that I summoned the courage to put my shit out there on the walls in NYC where the most cruel as well as thoughtful eyes could see and judge. That is an amazing step for me. I guess I do at last love my work, believe in it and have high hopes for the future. This may seem hokey, pathetic you decide, for me it is huge.

Phillipe Petite, "Man on Wire", Can't wait to see it.

Have a great day.

Hello, You would not believe how long it took me to upload these two photos. I wanted to have one in the middle but it would send the other two down. Anyway the technology is only as good as the operator or whatever that saying is. These two images are two views panning around my show. The middle photo would have made it a panoramic view but anyway, future posts.

So I take the show down tomorrow and move on. It has been great and I sold a little one and maybe have some leads going forward. We shall see.

Hello. Busy 24 hours. I have been writing and reading all day so this is brief just wanted to check in. Getting ready to listen to the President. I did get to the gallery today however brief talked with Rosario for a bit. Great artist.

I've been answering nine questions for hamptons.com and getting photos together but mainly editing myself to sound less stupid. I referenced Susan Hayward "I Want To Live" in a response. What can I say. I just had to turn that over. :) This typing is painful so I must stop. Have a great night. The President. YEAAAA!!!

I figured I would put up "Joan Crawford".

Hello. Dreary day in NYC. I ran out of coffee so I am forcing myself to drink the endless supply of tea in my kitchen. I do like sugar in my tea so it is a different experience. I'm listening to Johnathan Schwartz Sinatra on Sunday and it would be fine if he did not like the sound of his voice so much but anyway, he's earned his place. He's playing "I've Got You Under My Skin" and He is in true form taking license with the lyric. Classic Frank Ham-bone and that is all I can listen to. so I go over to the am dial and catch "Prairie Home Companion" Can't take that either. Today I have no tolerance to gabbing. On to some ambient noise.

Today I am going to organize myself and prepare to send my last emailing tomorrow. So I need an image, this painting is 36"x36" and pretty straight-forward. The grass background recedes quite nicely I will say. I think there is a welcoming feeling about the trees. I just made a huge batch of popcorn, did not burn a kernel, buttered and salted. My favorite new snack...Mark Bittman likes it.

I went to the Chelsea Flea Market to see if Richard Lambert was there. He is the dealer that I've bought most of my Robert Loughlins from. I wanted to let him know about my show, oh well now I must pick up the phone.
