Hello. I found this site today and there are some very good painters and something for everyone. Enjoy!
http://www.greenerpasturesgallery.com/ This is a 9"'x12" painting that I did in 2005 I am getting back to that format it seems easy and I love the possibility to hang a group in a grid.

John and I had dinner plans with two new friends of ours and for some reason we can not reach them. I don't know if I was supposed to call to confirm. I can't remember and that is the problem with letting me handle social things. I like these guys so it is to bad and John likes something social so it would be nice but we are both in agreement that a night home in his beautiful house is just fine.

We are out in EH with John and figured I would continue on Friday's post. I can think of nothing else but my installation and it is fun as I am thinking of being a little adventurous. I am trying to think of how to incorporate my crazy little still life paintings with the grass paintings. This week begins my sublet in the city so I am thinking of coming out here and staying alone as I can do some work and if I stay in the city at John's I will watch TV. This is one of those absolute stream of conscious posts which must be really boring. I feel so good and at peace with myself today and that is a gift let me tell you. It is the possibility of this show which gives me something to work for, plan and hope to make some money. Of course it is right after the holidays so nobody is spending money but what can you do.

John is taking me to Luxor, Egypt around Thanksgiving and then London where He has a conference. I never really cared about London until going with John. Staying in Battersea with Ericka and Tristrum is half of it actually. Not only do they have a beautiful home with a suite for guests but they are great and I like their boys and they have amazing books which in my time lounging I plan on enjoying.

Ok I guess I have blathered on long enough. We were just resting in front of the television and watching "Waiting For Guffman" "All I had was a dancebelt and a tube of chapstick" Classic David Guest.

This is my new favorite site. http://www.fernandoaraujo.net/ I think he is an amazing painter click on portfolio and check it out. Such energy, dark and beautiful. So many paintings that I would want to own if I had a wall and were in the market for a painting.

Hello.
It is a beautiful crisp morning in NYC and I have such gratitude for so many things. Being able to visit my Dad, taking care of the paperwork pertaining to his health issues, having a little visit with Mom, and being back home to resume work.

I started some pencil drawings last night of small grass images. Did a bit of thinking about my potential installation and realizing that if I go with my impulse my work can be very fresh and youthful (and we love that). I also think that if I do a few groups of small works and a couple of larger works say 48"x48" or so. The groups of small works could be random or grid. allow me to hang lots of pictures and give options for small sales.

So I am back it is near one a.m. and I am painting taking a break to eat a bit and have cup number two of strong green tea, better than coffee all around. I feel that whether Bloomberg gets the opportunity to run for a third term and all it entails mean nothing to me. And I do realize that it is very important but I don't like term limits anyway there is always a chance that a candidate will be lousy but it is up to us to vote them out but I want the good candidate to be able to stay.

Yes I am working on one group of (4) 12"x12" grass paintings and (2) 9"x12" grass paintings. also unstretched (2) groups of two grass paintings. They have some potential it is early and I am having fun. It is nice to paint on a stretched canvas, normally or lately rather I work on unstretched canvas tacked on the wall. The edges are clean and it looks finished almost right away. Yeah whatever. I'm trying to edit....this blog.

to be continued...

Hello. This is what you find when you leave NYC - toads. Well I guess you can find some in the city as well :)...Central Park, Riverside Park. I took this photo in my sister's backyard in Northern RI where it feels like Fall right now. I took the photo during the summer, I love taking pics of wildlife wherever I see it. The hope is that I will use them as reference in a painting sometime but I' just love collecting my own photos of various living creatures. I've used one image of a hare that I saw with John in Joshua Tree National Park. A huge jack-rabbit.

So I've been invited to be part a group show (five or six artists) at a little gallery in Chelsea from February 1 - 14th 2009. It is almost definite so I feel I can write about it. I will have a small, sweet room about 12'x12' with hard wood floors. I think the ceiling is high enough for my largest painting if I decide to put it in and then all new stuff. I may make all new paintings in the city so I do not have to transport anything from the country. Really excited about making new work - I really want to focus on my grass paintings but find a new look for them take them in a different direction. Maybe some more realistic and some very washy and abstracted with some bits of detail. It is very exciting.

more to come...
